TIG-welding
TIG welding is a fusion welding method that provides high quality welding results. Smooth welding surfaces with good tolerances.
In TIG welding, an arc is formed between a non-melting electrode and the workpiece. Electrode, arc, melt and any additional wire are protected against the influence of air by means of an inert shielding gas. This is absolutely important in the industries that Slangspecialisten often works with, such as the food industry, brewery and the pharmaceutical industry where content from the air, such as oxygen, nitrogen and moisture, must absolutely not enter the process.
The electrode is made of volfram which has such a high melting point that it does not melt during welding, a melting point of about 3400 degrees C. The welding can be performed with only melting of the weld metal, but it is more common to use an additive material. The non-current welding wire is added from the side.
TIG welding is used for welding in stainless and other high-alloy steels, as well as non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys. And the method is useful on basically all wall thicknesses. The TIG method provides very good control of the heat supply, which means that small fine details are welded with good results. Of course, we place a value on our welding details being even and nicely rounded, but we also ensure that our productions meet the requirements of the industry, such as the food industry's requirements for surface smoothness.
